Meet the GC Global Community/Family Foundations

The organizing committees for this conference are composed of members of the GC‑Global Community, the principal driving force behind the GC Conference. This year’s hosting foundations were Association Izas, la Princesa Guisante, and Franck Un Rayon de Soleil. Serving as main sponsors, alongside the two hosting foundations, were the AYJ Fund Foundation, Elizabeth’s Hope Foundation, and the Rudy Menon Foundation.

Additional members of the organizing committees who collaborated in planning and contributed as sponsors include The Joshua Bembo Project HOPE Inc., Fe y Misericordia Foundation, Mathys un Rayon de Soleil, and Anne Rayon de Soleil. These foundations are also active members of the GC‑Global Community and continue to play an essential role in advancing its mission.

One of the most memorable elements of the 3rd GC Conference was the heartfelt contribution of María Muela, a dedicated volunteer and collaborator of Association Izas. She created personalized memorabilia for each member foundation of the GC‑Global Community – artwork that beautifully captured the spirit, strength, and individuality of the “warrior angels” honored by the GC family foundations.

Conference Sessions

During the conference, dedicated scientific sessions provided researchers and medical experts with a forum to present and discuss progress in GC research, emerging advancements, and best clinical practices. In parallel, the family foundations held their own session to review completed projects, share updates on ongoing initiatives, and explore ways to strengthen their collective organization in order to reach and support more families around the world.

Joint sessions were also convened between GC‑Global members and the medical professionals. These discussions focused on developing a two‑year collaborative work plan, outlining priorities for the next GC Conference, and identifying funding opportunities to sustain and expand the efforts of GC foundations.
